The two most common concerns about wind farms are their visual and noise impacts on the local community’s quality of life.
Wind turbines used for the Low Head Wind Farm will be proposed for locations which provide as little visual impact as possible, whilst ensuring a viable wind resource and constructability. Modern wind turbines with certified noise curves will be modelled against baseline noise data from the area to ensuring 100% compliance with relevant noise standards. Early modelling indicates low visual impacts for most local residences, and no noise impacts for any residences.
Benefits to the local community will be realised through job creation during construction and over the 25-year operation phase of the wind farm. Over the life of the wind farm, the company will commit to building and maintaining all necessary public and private roads to a high standard. Following discussions with local residents, the company will endeavour to provide all reasonable measures to maintain the values associated with living within this beautiful region of Tasmania.
